ループ空間のホモロジーの研究は, その幾何学的および代数的モデルの存在に大きく依存している。

• free loop space とそのホモロジー

代数的トポロジーの研究対象として研究されてきたが, free loop space のホモロジーは, string topology などとの関係で色んな分野に現れるようになった。

Abbondandolo と Schwartz の [AS10] や Abouzaid の [Abo12] によると, based loop space のホモロジーは Floer homology とも関係あるようである。
